    Symbiosis Events Production History
    2005 : The Vision
Symbiosis began in 2005 with the vision of creating a gathering where all of our friends, regardless of their musical tastes or personal interests, could come together for a harvest celebration that was aligned with our social and ecological intentions. We succeeded in bringing a sellout crowd of around 800 people for 3 days to the mountains of Santa Cruz, California, for what would become the seed of a new cultural phenomenon in the West Coast underground community: the 'Integrated' event.

    2006 : Growth and Expansion
In 2006, the Symbiosis Gathering moved to a larger venue in order to support the growing interest in the event. The new home, in Angel's Camp, California, could support 4 times as many guests and provided the isolation and proximity to nature required for the 4-day outdoor Symbiosis experience. The attendance for this event was approximately double that of the previous year, due largely to a massive amount of international lineup additions, even more art installations and workshops, and an increase in global street team promotions. Guests came from across the West Coast, and as far as New York, Australia, and Japan to be a part of the community.

    2007 : Building a Year-Round Community
2007 was another landmark year for Symbiosis, as the crew branched out into supporting a number of Bay Area community events in addition to the annual Symbiosis Gathering.

The groundbreaking Bay Area Yuri's Night at NASA's Ames Research Facility in April began the year with a broad expansion into the world of science and technology, with Symbiosis at the helm of the production and promotional teams.

In May, Symbiosis collaborated with Earthdance at the annual HowWeird Street Faire in San Francisco to create a music stage, eco-carnival, and teepee for speakers and workshops. In the summer, Symbiosis hosted the UK's Twisted Records crew (Shpongle, Hallucinogen, and Younger Brother) for an event at 1015 Folsom (San Francisco) in June, brought South Africa's trance superstar Protoculture to Area 101 (Laytonville, CA) in July, and collaborated with Lowpro Lounge to bring Bluetech, Phutureprimitive, and live painter Kris D for the Summer of Dub at Jelly's in San Francisco. Each of these events brought various specific elements of the community into focus, while maintaining a balance of diversity and innovation.

The Third Annual Symbiosis Gathering, taken place in September to align with the Fall Equinox, doubled its attendance for the third time with over 3000 guests at the Angel's Camp location. Guests enjoyed three stages of music, a spectrum of workshops and presentations, a dedicated healing space, and countless art installations and surprise performances. Highlights included the Autumn Equinox Ritual Prayerformance and international multi-genre musical lineup. A live performance from the Symbiotic Orchestra, a super-jam collaboration of the weekend's star electronic and acoustic performers, united the crowds at the Field Stage on Sunday evening to close the event with another unforgettable community experience.
