I was wondering when a list of acts will be posted and at what stages?

Also, is hand drumming ok? Is there a central spot for that or is it impromptu?

Hey - although I see references to food being covered under “Vendors”, I don’t really see more than two food-related businesses there.

If we’re not supposed to bring food, and we’re not supposed to cook, and we’re not supposed to do in-and-outs, can we be sure that there will be enough available food for sale for all of us, for five days? Also, what kinds of food will be available, and what will food prices be like?

I understand that you want to steer folks toward the cabins, but the cabin rent is a bit rich for some of our blood! So …. if I could see a bit more information about what car-campers should bring, and what we should expect, especially as far as the food situation, I would be really really *REALLY* relieved. Thanks.

    Hi,

Are there going to be free filtered water to drink?
    Can I bring my bike?

    Thanks
    Janet

we don’t actually want to “steer folks toward cabins” at all…….
we have several food vendors who will be onsite for the entire event offering a variety of food, and there will be a range of options, vegan to meat, available around the clock…
we will post more info about it soon!

  5. zariat says:

also you can bring food - just no fires!!

  6. zariat says:

the entire site has beautiful clean spring water from yosemite! you can fill up in the bathrooms or any water source onsite.

also - bikes are welcome! you may find them very useful… it’s a big place.

What does it mean to “tie food in a tree”? Also concerning food, I understand fires aren’t allowed, but is a portable propane stove, verbotten, even in designated areas?

    A couple questions….

1.) Are the cabins OR the camping closer to the stages? How long is the walk from each?

2.) How many stages are there?

3.) The venue appears very wooded. Is most camping in shade or a field or what? Just trying to figure out shade tents and if I need one.

4.) Is there any taping allowed (with artist permission of course)?

    ONE MORE QUESTION….

Any chance of a message board. I think these people would love to chat about this weekend.

  11. Sorel says:

Valentin, “tie food in a tree” literally means you tie your food up in a tree so that bears cannot reach it.

There are lots of different methods for doing this. the general rule of thumb is to tie the food in a branch so that it hangs at least ten feet above the ground, ten feet away from the tree’s trunk, and 5 feet below the branch it hangs on. This usually is enough to stump most bears, raccoons, and any other critters that may be attracted to the food scent. Although, it doesn’t ALWAYS prevent the inevitable. I hear that yosemite bears are particularly notorious for having a knack at getting food even when it is properly tied up out of their reach. My suggestion is if you really want to keep your food safe, invest some money in what they call a “bear canister”. So that even if they are able to knock your canister full of yummy smelling food out of the tree, there will be no chance of them being able to bust it open and eat your food.

what is an estimate for the price of a meal at symbiosis? i would like to know how much cash to bring. also would like to know what to expect to spend on food so i can weigh that out with the inconvenience of tying food to trees.

also really no propane stoves? seriously?

  13. lou says:

hi there….we just want to bring a tiny butane stove to boil water for tea….i get the no “cooking”…is this ok?

  14. zariat says:

sorry, no stoves of any kind!! it’s all about controlling the fire risk, no matter what the purpose or how small.

  15. The Danimal says:

Can you get CAR CAMPING PASSES at the gate or do you have to buy ahead of time. If I am getting an ALL ACCESS pass will there be a CAR CAMPING PASS included?

  16. Nina Johnson says:

are tickets being sold at the gate? what about car/camping passes?

  17. gerard says:

    Schedule?

  18. Hi there… I’m buying a ticket for my friend from the Amazon, Flavio Santi… He will arrive with Justin and will be hosted by Oshan. There is no place on the ticket purchase field to show the ticket name as different than the ticket payer…
